Alia Bhatt’s Raazi will beat October and Hichki today to become 7th highest grosser of 2018

Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal starrer Raazi is doing a phenomenal business at the box office. The spy-thriller has raked in Rs 45.34 crore in just 5 days at the ticket windows. The film currently holds the 9th position in the list of top grossers of 2018. It is marginally behind Varun Dhawan’s October (Rs 45.40 crore) and Rani Mukerji’s Hichki (Rs 46.17 crore) and will cross then today to become the 7th highest grosser of the year. Though surpassing the business of Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man (Rs 82.10 crore) will be a huge task for Raazi as Deadpool 2 is hitting the screens, which is expected to dominate at the box office.

Padmaavat  – Rs 302 crore

Avengers – Rs 218 crore

Baaghi 2 – Rs 165.50 crore

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety – Rs 109 crore

Raid – Rs 103.50 crore

Pad Man – Rs 82.10 crore

Hichki – Rs 46.17 crore

October – Rs 45.40 crore*

Raazi – Rs 45.34 crore*

102 Not Out – Rs 39.51 crore*

Made on the moderate budget, Raazi has already surpassed the business of films like 102 Not Out, Pari, Aiyaary 1921, Hate Story IV and many others. Apart from the domestic market, the film has performed decently well in the international markets. Raazi is based on Harinder Sikka’s best-selling novel Calling Sehmat. Set in 1971, the story of the film revolves around a 20-year old Kashmiri girl Sehmat, who marries a Pakistani officer to spy on his family. Apart from the lead cast, Raazi also stars Rajit Kapoor, Soni Razdan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Shishir Sharma and Amruta Khanvilkar in pivotal roles.
