After Brahmastra and Kalank, Alia Bhatt announces her next ‘light-hearted’ project

After delivering her career best performance in Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi, Alia Bhatt plans to sign a lighthearted movie. With some serious movies like Brahmastra and Kalank in her kitty already, Alia now wants to sign a fun movie and guess who will direct her in that? Well, it’s none other than Bareilly ki Barfi director, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari. Yes, Alia has given her nod to the director’s next project and the official announcement will be made soon. Alia confirmed the news of her collaboration with Tiwari to Hindustan Times. She said, “I am definitely going to do a film with Ashwiny because she is a fabulous director. The film is sort of confirmed, but I am not saying it myself, as there will be an official announcement soon.” Talking further about how she is stepping away from serious movies like Raazi and Udta Punjab, Alia added, “They have brought an extremely fun concept to me. I am very excited, as that’s going to be my breakaway film from all the serious ones. Ab main ek light-hearted film karne waali hun.” Now that’s interesting and we are dying to see a bubbly Alia Bhatt on the big screen once again.

Coincidentally, Alia’s beau, Ranbir Kapoor too, announced his next venture with Ajay Devgn and Luv Ranjan. Though no details about the project are revealed yet, we bet it would another rom-com since the director is known for the same genre. Meanwhile Alia’s Raazi is having a phenomenal run at the box office. Raazi raked in Rs 6.10 crore on Monday and currently stands at the grand total of Rs 45.34 crore. The film is all set to cross Rs 50 crore mark today at the ticket windows.
